Abstract

Introduction: Bereavement can be understood as a process of constructing meanings triggered by a significant loss. It can be said that it is a dynamic process in which there may be psychological, physical, social and occupational repercussions, inviting a bereaved person to begin a process of change and elaboration. Objective: to identify the repercussions of grief in everyday life portrayed by Brazilian scientific productions. Methods: this is a systematic review of Brazilian literature, which was used by PRISMA's organizational proposal. The databases consulted were BVS and Scielo. The filters applied were: published in the last 10 years (2013 - 2023), the text will be complete and available online to read in full, and in Portuguese. Results: 32 articles were selected to compose a review. They were grouped into 5 categories, regarding the nature of the loss: maternal grief (46.8%), widows' grief (15.6%), grief for the loss of young people in the family (9.3%), grief for parents who loss of children (6.25%) and other experiences of mourning due to the loss of family members (15.55%). Discussion: From the consulted and detailed material, it is clear that the process of mourning the loss of loved ones is also characterized by a period of daily rearrangements. It should be noted that the grieving process of women has gained much more attention. Conclusion: As limitations of the research, it can be indicated that only national databases with articles in Portuguese were consulted, not covering international literature.
