Poderes e (im) poderes da Literatura: Proust e Sartre

Resumo

Neste trabalho a minha proposta é analisar qual o lugar que ocupa a literatura na concepção de dois escritores relevantes: Proust e Sartre. Tentarei confrontar ambas interpretações sobre a importância da literatura. Ambos os autores, em algum momento de suas vidas, outorgam à arte de escrever um lugar de privilégio, um estatuto excludente acima de todas as outras possibilidades da existência. Contudo, no final da obra de cada um desses autores, a sua interpretação sobre o valor da arte de escrever diverge, até chegarem a posições antagônicas. Tentarei então elucidar essas posturas sobre os poderes ou (im) poderes da literatura.

Abstract: In this paper my goal is to analyze what place art occupies in the design of two important writers: Proust and Sartre. I will try to confront both interpretations about the importance of art in general and literature in particular. Both writers, at some point in their lives, imparts the art of writing a place of privilege, an exclusive status above all other possibilities of existence. But at the end of the work of each of these authors, their interpretation on the value of the art of writing diverges until they arrived at opposing viewpoints. Then try to elucidate these perspectives on the powers or (im) powers of literature.
