PHILOSOPHY AND PHILOLOGY, TRAGEDY AND CATHARSIS: about the presence of Aristotle in shaping the thinking of Nietzsche
Abstract
Pretermitted for a long time and by most interpreters, in favor, especially, of Schopenhauer, Wagner or even Plato, Aristotle does not seem to play any important, strategic role, in the formation of Nietzsche's thinking. The purpose of this article, instead, is to show to what extent Aristotle was present in Nietzsche's philosophical horizon since its beginning. Strange it would be if this not happen, given the interest of Nietzsche on the issue of tragedy and the fundamental role of the Poetics in this discussion. Therefore, we intend to rebuild, in its more general lines, the initial debate of Nietzsche with Aristotle, whose consequences will be felt throughout the work of German philosopher. Keywords: philosophy; philology; tragedy; catharsis.
