In the first part of this article, we present and contextualise the fragments in which Antiphon and Brison's quadratures of the circle appear in Aristotelian works and those of commentators. We then discuss the debate in the historiography of mathematics about the interpretations of these fragments. Finally, we will offer some reading and interpretation clues that differ somewhat from the academic literature.
