Abstract

The present study aims to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the growth of webcamming platforms and what the consequences of this process are. To this end, a cartographic study was carried out in two stages, namely netnography and semi-structured interviews, carried out with seven professionals in the field. It was found that webcamming is confused with other areas of the sex market, such as prostitution and pornography. Observe the presence of violence and social stigma. The pandemic and media influences are clear to professionals, including in their own trajectories.
