Abstract

The article aims to expose how the relevance of the issues of support and image for deconstruction is derived from the critique of phonologocentrism articulated by the notion of écriture, in Grammatology. With this framework, it is argued that considering material technical supports as mnemotechnical supplements triggers a series of twists in the way we conceive perception and thought, which can even affect the way we interpret the great flow of iconic elements in current media. We seek to argue, therefore, how technical instrumentality becomes an unavoidable theme for thinking about the experience of images in contemporary times.
