Teacher training in Physical Education and the "cultural turn"
experiences developed in a socioanthropological foundations course
Abstract
This article presents and problematizes cultural experiences developed within a curriculum component. It is characterized as a qualitative-quantitative study of applied nature, with comparative and explanatory objectives. The data production technique involves observations with annotations in a logbook and the application of questionnaires. Data analysis includes content analysis as well as descriptive and comparative treatment. The study involved 36 students from bachelor's and teaching degree programs, predominantly in their first semester. It is concluded that, through this curriculum component, students' understanding of Physical Education has shown a significant leap in terms of their relationship with culture, or a "cultural turning point".
