Abstract
The text aims to present the main features of the crítico-superadora proposal, recorded in the book Metodologia do Ensino da Educação Física (1992), pointing to the criticism made by the authors themselves, as well as the criticism made by some intellectuals of Physical Education. For this, we consider as central themes: body culture and body expression as language; teaching methodology; history and ideology. We can say that the book, presents limits in some historical depth, at the joint between teaching cycles, and the dependence of knowledge production to be systematic in content. On the other hand, has a fertility indicate by itself the clues to overcome their own limits, still generate debates and studies that allow advance critical alternatives for teaching. The proposal alert the ethical-political character of education, taking into account the tenuous and sensitive border between politics and education, which becomes a merit nowadays.
