Mauri de Carvalho: A Monument in Being a Teacher in Brazilian Physical Education

Abstract

This historical research aims to analyze the theoretical-political assumptions of Being Professor Mauri de Carvalho. As a methodology, a Conference of his on the YouTube Channel (PMEFB, 2021) was analyzed through Hermeneutics-Dialectics (MINAYO, 2014). We conclude that to face the problems of the singularity of Physical Education (curriculum in initial training, teacher training, development of a pedagogical practice that aims at human emancipation, among others) it also seems that it is necessary for the singularity of Physical Education to be aimed at based on assumptions of universality that understand it from the perspective of totality.
