CONTINUING EDUCATION STRICTO SENSU AND THE POLITICAL-PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS: THE STATE OF THE ART
Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyse the academic production on the impacts of continuing education at the Stricto Sensu level on the political-pedagogical practice of Physical Education teachers. After screening three databases, eight works were selected. The investigations demonstrate that Master's and Doctoral programs promote critical reflection on teaching and drive positive changes in teaching performance, allowing teachers to question fundamental elements of political-pedagogical practice. Although their effects can reach teachers, students, and school systems, their effectiveness depends on the concrete conditions of implementation, which can cause tensions and challenges, mainly due to the productivism characteristic existing in Brazilian postgraduate studies. Even so, the presence of masters and doctors in the daily school routine represents an opportunity to improve pedagogical work, provided that the teacher recognizes and acts as an intellectual committed to transforming educational practice.
