O NASCIMENTO DO ROMANTISMO EM PORTUGAL

Este estudo procura analisar as origens do movimento romântico em Portugal. Assim, destacar-se-á o papel inovador de Almeida Garrett e Alexandre Herculano e o contexto histórico-político que, no início do século XIX, motivou uma nova produção literária. Também se pretende ver como, nas décadas de 40 e 50, a degenerescência do ideal romântico, com os poetas ultra-românticos à sombra de António Feliciano de Castilho, fez levantar a voz de uma geração combativa, com relevo para Antero de Quental, que afirma uma sensibilidade moderna, aliando
poesia e filosofia e fazendo da arte experiência do absoluto.
