'Violent Sociability' as an Interpretant for Effectuate Actions Based on Force: A Pragmatic Development for Machado da Silva’s Hypothesis
Keywords:

The essay aims to present a pragmatic reframing of the concept of violent sociability, proposed by Luiz Antonio Machado da Silva. We suggest reinterpreting it as a social representation, operated by actors both as metaphysics and as device and endowed with enough agency to effectuate the deployment of large amounts of force necessary for some imposition actions in non-routine situations – situations that, because of the representation, are understood as routine. In order to do so, we discuss how a dystopian perspective of the world joins up with a representation that a force-based metaphysics operates perennially among people.Additional Files
