In the article, we intend to analyze crime and violence as two axes of a specific grammar whose repertoires lie around a essential character of this environment, the bandit. This grammar of urban violence delineates a set of imperatives that establishes a large part of urban sociability in Rio de Janeiro. It guides the qualifications and reactions of various social actors in the labyrinthine circuit of accusations it has generated. To clarify some essential movements in this circuit, we explore our empirical material based on some departs and dialogues between violent sociability and criminal subjection.Published
