The article explores some facets of Erving Goffman’s theoretical-methodological and thematic scheme of symbolic-interactionist thinking and explores Goffman’s legacy as a seminal author in contemporary urban analysis. Its analytical focus is the notion of failure as a concept that runs through not only The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, but the entire work of the author. It analyzes Goffman's thinking as an expression of his academic and research context and commemorates the 60 years of publishing The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, the flagship of selling and reading in the entirety of his work.Published
