This paper focuses on youth experiences in the face of criminal governance efforts in the outlying neighborhoods of Maceió (AL) and Belo Horizonte (MG). We start from the experiences of non-involved youth to highlight that being out of crime is not being out of the world of crime once their lives are crossed by moral and justice regimes of criminal groups in the territories where they live and circulate. We argue that the instability of criminal dynamics in these regions of Maceió and Belo Horizonte makes war a central form of relationship that crosses kinship, love, neighborhood, childhood friendships, organized football fans.Downloads
