Gestos morais nas sociabilidades em contexto institucional: do reconhecimento da humanidade comum

Abstract

Moral gestures in institutional context sociabilities: recognition of common humanity. Following ethnographic research in a social and psychiatric center, we propose a sociological reflection on the moral gestures of its residents in the sociabilities that are intertwined there. In a context where, due to the rigidity of the rules and the need to reconcile the protection and promotion of autonomy, the recognition of residents' humanity does not always occur, residents reveal critical and moral capacities put into practice with particular evidence in the act of painting. It is concluded that painting encourages the responsibility of painters, thus favoring their recognition as moral beings.
