Abstract

The article analyzes the performance of the photographer Arthur Fellig (Weegee) in the construction of the photojournalism frame. The theoretical support comes mainly from Goffmanian analysis of the frame. The methodology is based on the relationship between biography and society to explain the construction of photographic acts in journalistic matters. Weegee's role in the construction of a photojournalism frame is demonstrated based on concepts related to frame transformation, such as keyings, fabrications and laminations  Investigative photojournalism began to reconstruct this strategy, but also including abusive manipulative procedures.
