From Viriato da Cruz's Cartas de Pequim (2003) to Pepetela's novel O planalto e a estepe (2009), the representations of China and the Chinese people are constructed within tensions and contradictions that involve the memory of the political and economic fields of both countries. More recently, other artistic forms such as the film Nossa Senhora da loja do chinês (2022), written and directed by Ery Claver, and the song "Trabalho" (2016) by Paulo Flores, as well as the novel Transparent City (2012) by Ondjaki, announce points of convergence in their configuration regarding work relations. Therefore, this text aims to consider the social process, linguistic interactions, and perceptions of the contemporary world of work present in the composition of these forms in Angola.
