Résumé

The present article intends to show that religious practices could be as much an identity factor as a factor of "alterity" between Rome and the North-African cities at the time of the Empire. For such, certain religious practices were selected from the analysis of epigraphic, literary and architectural documentation: the official priesthood exercised by the municipal elite; the cult to the emperor, to Jupiter, to the cities' genius, to Afrorum Satumus and Dea Africa.
