About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Brazilian Journal of Dance Studies is a biannual scientific publication of the Postgraduate Dance Program at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the National Association of Dance Researchers. Its objective is to publish and disseminate knowledge in Dance, through the publication of original works, in the form of articles of a theoretical or applied nature, dossiers, and book reviews resulting from research carried out by researchers from scientific institutions of recognized technical-academic merit. In addition, we publish texts in the format of experience reports and essays related to the following topics: Dance and related areas, as long as they establish a dialogue with Dance as an area of knowledge or social practice.
Peer Review Process
The evaluation of all articles received is carried out by peers who are experts in the field with high academic degrees. The peer review (double-blind) method will be used with blind peer review.
Final approval of the article for publication is made considering the following criteria:
• favorable opinion of the two evaluators;
• making the necessary adjustments by the author, if there are any recommendations;
All papers must be sent through the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER) to the address: https://revistas.ufrj.br/index.php/rbed. At the time of submission, the authors must fill in all the gaps with the name(s) of the person(s), author(s), institution to which they belong, e-mail, postal address, telephone(s) of the person(s) author(s), article titles, information about abstracts in the original language of the article, in Spanish and in English. A brief description is also required in the biography item, which will be included at the end of the article and the ORCID registration of the author(s) person(s).
It is important to emphasize that general information about authorship, affiliation, title, and e-mail should be restricted to the Registration. There should not be any type of identification throughout the work.
Note 1: The evaluation of experience reports, essays, and Dance works reviews and memorials are carried out by one ad hoc referee and one opinion by an editor or member of the Editorial Board.
Note 2: One of the Associate Editors evaluates interviews and book reviews.

Ethical Commitment
The Brazilian Journal of Dance Studies follows the
ethical principles and rules of conduct that govern the
originality of articles, transparency, and integrity of research
results so that scientific knowledge is disseminated
to contribute to the quality of social life.
Indexing
After the publication of the first two volumes,
it is intended that the Brazilian Journal of Dance Studies
be submitted to the evaluation of some indexing databases,
such as Latindex (Mexico), Dialnet (Spain), Scielo (Brazil),
and REDALIC. So that be indexed, according to the list of
suggestions presented by the RAE Publicações/FGV website (2018), and in the same way, enter the CAPES-MEC Qualis Periodicals evaluation system, aiming for Extract A.
