The following article aims to offer an analytical synthesis on how the relationship between dance and politics can be conceptualized. In this regard, a synthesis of the various contributions recorded in the field of dance and performance studies is presented, taking into account the main lines of research and the conceptual tensions that traverse them. Among these, the opposition between the categories of freedom and equality as ways of conceiving choreographic politics stands out. Thus, we arrive at the following question: Is dance today an instrument to drain arguments from politics or a way to re-found our commitment to the collective?
