DOI:

Integrating spirituality into healthcare transforms the patient’s
journey into a healing and caring experience that goes beyond physical
treatment. Many studies have demonstrated the benefits associated with
spirituality/religiosity in terms of people’s health and quality of life. By
embracing and valuing their spirituality, healthcare professionals can provide
more comprehensive support, helping them find meaning, purpose, and
connection throughout their journey of coping with chronic diseases. Along
with other chronic and degenerative diseases, neurological disorders are
one of the leading causes of inability to cope with illness and dependence in
our society, which is why the spiritual dimension should be considered
fundamental in promoting the quality of life and well-being of these patients.
This article explores the importance of spirituality in healthcare, highlighting
its relationship with emotional well-being, quality of life, and coping with
chronic diseases. Although many studies point to significant benefits,
research in this area still faces methodological challenges that need to be
addressed.
