About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Revista Linguí∫tica is the official publication of the Graduate Program in Linguistics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). It is a four-monthly publication, available in printed and online versions, that opens space for the publication of articles, reviews and original interviews in Portuguese and English, with the aim of promoting the exchange of ideas between researchers from Brazil and abroad.
Revista Linguí∫tica is thematically organized, focusing on specific issues related to one of the six current research lines: Studies of Indigenous Languages and Minoritized Languages, Grammar in Generative Theory, Variation and Linguistic Change, Functional Models Based on Use, Language, Mind and Brain, Linguistics, Education and Innovation. Every two years, a non-thematic issue is published.
Revista Linguí∫tica was standardized according to the following ABNT standards: NBR 6021; 6022; 6023.
Peer Review Process
Articles submitted for publication in Revista Linguí∫tica are subject to anonymous evaluation by two ad hoc reviewers with recognized academic excellence in the field of the article. The evaluation is by the double blind peer-review system: the reviewers do not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewers. The reviewers indicate whether the article should be accepted unchanged, amended or rejected. If there is agreement between the opinions of the two reviewers, the editor accepts the indication. If there is no agreement, a third ad-hoc reviewer or a member of the editorial board indicates a final position.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The journal does not charge for submission, nor for the processing and publication of articles (APCs).
