Over the last 15 years, Cognitive Linguistics has shown a growing interest in the intersubjective dimension of human language (Soares da Silva, 2021; Geeraerts, 2021; Tantucci, 2021, 2017; Ghesquière, Brems e Van de Velde, 2014; Dancygier e Sweetser, 2012; Verhagen, 2008, 2005; Zlatev et al., 2008; dentre muitos outros). This seems to have resulted from the recognition that the original focus on the cognitive abilities of one single conceptualizer is ill-suited to account both for a large set of particular linguistic phenomena and, more broadly, the inherently social and semiotic nature of language (Geeraerts, 2016). Following this path, this volume seeks to bring together studies focusing on the relation between language and intersubjectivity. In particular, it welcomes papers dealing with the following subjects, among others: (i) synchronic analyses of particular intersubjective constructions (or constructional families); (ii) the diachronic development of particular intersubjective constructions (or constructional families); (iii) the inter-relation between intersubjectivity and figurativity; (iv) the inter-relation between intersubjectivity and related concepts (such as subjectivity/objectivity, modality, evidentiality, mirativity, etc); (v) intersubjectivity and pragmatic phenomena; (vi) intersubjectivity and language change; (vii) intersubjectivity and Autism Spectrum Disorder; and (vii) intersubjectivity and talk-in-interaction.
