Considering both the linguistic links and historical coexistence between Brazil and Italy and the wealth of research being carried out in Brazilian and Italian research and teaching institutions, this issue of Revista LinguíStica seeks to promote academic dialogue and international collaboration between scholars investigating Brazilian Portuguese and working in Italy or Brazil. With this in mind, this issue will bring together articles, reviews and interviews that highlight the scientific production of Brazilian Portuguese, whether or not it contrasts with Italian. In this sense, we are looking for works from a wide range of theoretical and methodological perspectives, including interdisciplinary approaches. To this end, we welcome papers on the following topics: (I) grammatical description of Brazilian Portuguese, from a synchronic or diachronic perspective, in contrast or not with Italian; (ii) acquisition of Brazilian Portuguese in contact or not with Italian; (iii) teaching Brazilian Portuguese as a mother tongue; (iv) teaching Brazilian Portuguese as an additional language in Italy and/or Italian as an additional language in Brazil; and (v) translation studies from Brazilian Portuguese into Italian and/or from Italian into Brazilian Portuguese.

Observation: Researchers and professors who study Brazilian Portuguese and do not work in educational or research institutions in Brazil or Italy may have their texts accepted in this volume of the LinguíStica Journal, in a special section.
