Abstract

On October 18, 2018, we invited the indigenous students of the Postgraduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology (PPGSA) and the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology of the National Museum (PPGAS / MN), both from UFRJ, for a talk about the importance of documenting narratives and the meanings of narrative practices for their peoples. The interviewees were Chicoepab Suruí of the Paiter Suruí ethnic group, Enoc Merino Santi, of the Kichua Canelos ethnic group, Jósimo da Costa Constant, of the Poyanawa ethnic group, Márcio de Oliveira Pires, of the Bakairi de Santana ethnic group, Maria Isabel de Oliveira da Silva, of the Desana ethnic group, Nelly Duarte, of the Marubo ethnic group and Sandra Benites, of the Guarani Nhandeva ethnic group. The conversation was coordinated by Bruna Franchetto. We also have an interview, held in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, AM, starring Kristine Stenzel and Professor Miguel Cabral, from the ethnic group Kotiria (Wanano). Augusto de Alencar, a master's degree student from PPGAS / National Museum, worked on the recording of the interview, the transcription - with the help of Gabriela Montoni - and the final edition of the text presented here.
