Aplicação da construction grammar à morfologia: o caso das formas X-eiro do português do Brasil

Abstract

Neste artigo, analisamos a polissemia das formações X-eiro, sugerindo que eles constituem uma construção gramatical, nos termos de GOLDBERG (1995). Além disso, procuramos estabelecer o significado mais básico do sufixo, se agente (como em "sorveteiro" e "sapateiro") ou locativo (como em "cinzeiro" e "galinheiro") e depreender os processos cognitivos que subjazem às diferentes acepções das formas derivadas.
