Uma revisão crítica de "Linguistic Prominence and Broca's area: the influence of animacy as linearization principle"

Esta é uma revisão crítica do artigo Linguistic prominence and Broca's area: the influence of animacy as linearization principle (Proeminência Linguística e a área de Broca: a influência da animacidade como princípio da linearização) publicado em 2006, na NeuroImage, por Tanja Grewe, Ina Bornkessel-Schlesewsky, e colegas. O objetivo dos autores é, usando a técnica de fMRI relacionada a evento, investigar a interação de três princípios de linearização: (i) a precedência do sujeito ao objeto; (ii) a precedência do argumento animado ao inanimado (princípio da animacidade); (iii) a precedência do argumento com papel temático mais alto no ranking àquele com papel temático menos alto (hierarquia temática). A conclusão desta revisão é a de que não houve completo sucesso na investigação proposta, porque ao estudar como o sistema de processamento linguístico realiza o mapeamento da forma para o conteúdo a pesquisa falhou em não reconhecer o papel sintático nesta relação.
