Percepção de norte-americanos quanto às oclusivas surdas finais sem soltura audível do inglês

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a percepção de norte-americanos quanto às oclusivas surdas sem soltura audível do inglês em final de sílabas CVC. Tal verificação ocorreu com base em hipóteses de um estudo prévio, realizado com aprendizes brasileiros de inglês da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre (RS). Conclui-se que grande parte das hipóteses que explicaram os resultados dos testes de percepção aplicados aos aprendizes brasileiros foram corroboradas na presente pesquisa, indicando que relações acústicas entre vogal nuclear e consoante final são primordiais para a acurácia perceptual das oclusivas em coda.
