Knowledge of the history, culture and language of black people is extremely important to understand the constitution of Brazilian society as well as the construction of the Brazilian Portuguese. However, the history of this people, as well as their culture and language are neglected in society and formal education systems, which only demonstrates the linguistic and racial prejudice – fruit of a heritage of colonialism. Thus, based on authors such as Nascimento (2019), Bagno (2016), Lucchesi (2015), Silveira (2020) and laws and documents such as BNCC, this work aims to propose a discussion on the importance of a racial linguistic education so that issues involving the history, culture and language of blacks are worked in a critical and reflective way within the school. To this end, the need for actions that enable a decolonization of the curriculum is highlighted.
