I present a proposal of the teaching (studing) of the Brazilian Portuguese in the Italian university context, focused on the linguistic-sociocultural reality of Brazil, the starting point is a phenomenon of change in the grammar of Brazilian Portuguese (BP), that produced more abstracted uses of “Um belo dia”. According to Silva (2017), unlike its more concrete use, of descriptive value, an element at the level of clause organization, “um belo dia” more abstracted is an operator at the textual level, introducing of the narrative climax. This proposal, based on functionalist principles understandable from BP grammar studies, is part of the international project REDE/Itália, “O português brasileiro em contexto italiano: aspectos sociais, políticos e linguísticos”, which involves partnerships between Italian and Brazilian universities, and actions of the cooperation in the research, teaching, extension and publication. At REDE/Itália, the results of descriptivist research encourage teaching actions for Brazilian Portuguese as a foreign language, additional language and heritage language in the Italian university context.
