Abstract

The following article equates the ludic according to Plato with the ambivalence of literature and Derridian games, regarding the ludic forms of narration of the Spanish video game "Gris". For this purpose, the notions of game and ludics are addressed from Plato's dialogue Laws. Next, I will analyze the special interpretation that Derrida makes of the story Before the Law by Frankz Kafka. Finally, I will look into the narrative of the video game, emphasizing the absence of voice and dialogue in the story, as well as the player's experience as a sensitive subjectivity that participates in the meaning of the narrative. All this series of steps has the purpose of demonstrating that in the video game "Gris" a clear and authoritative narrative is not expressed, but rather the player is immersed in a journey of self-discovery (of himself and of the protagonist), given that the black and white disappear on the screen, giving way to visually attractive figures that awaken something in the player's subjectivity.
