Este artigo pretende analisar a obra poética de Machado de Assis produzida a partir de 1880 e reunida no livro Ocidentais (1901). Nesse livro, o escritor traça um paralelo entre a cultura oriental e a ocidental, revelando os autores que influenciaram sua trajetória, como Victor Hugo, Leopardi e Goethe, além de dialogar com as Memórias póstumas de Brás Cubas.Downloads
