Cultural Activism in the Face of Militias in Baixada Fluminense This paper aims to reflect on the relationship between political activism and armed groups in the Baixada Fluminense, with an emphasis on cultural activism. Despite understanding that the militias have a significant influence on the (de)organization of militant practices and on the asymmetry of uses and possibilities in the public space, it is stressed that other forms of activism are activated, even if they are directly or indirectly part of the dynamics of armed territorial control. To this end, ethnographic empirical research was carried out with cultural agents and a cultural group in a municipality in the Baixada Fluminense.
