Abstract

Configuration of “Intersexuality” in the Chilean Context: Approaches, Paradigms and Institutional Devices Controlling the Experience(s) This article presents an institutional ethnography carried out between 2022 and 2024, within the framework of governmental debates on the intersex issue in Chile. The data obtained were systematized using the technique of Discursive Coalitions (DC) with the aim of identifying the power relations and alliances that are configured in the current political arena, and how these influence the intersex experience in the territory. The findings presented here invite us to reflect on whether current social practices allow the possibility of embodying another intersex body, different from the reified experience and useful for the creation of policies.

Es PhD en Antropología Social y Cultural por la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, Barcelona, España). Es máster en Investigación Avanzada e Intervención Social por la UAB (Barcelona, España). Tiene Certificado de los Estudios Políticos por el Institut d’Études Politiques (IEP) de la Sciences Po (Rennes, Francia). Es graduada en Ciencias Políticas y Administración Pública por la Universidad de Concepción (UDEC, Chile). Es integrante del Grupo Antropologia i Història de la Construcció de les Identitats Socials i Polítiques (AHCISP) del Estudis Socials i de Gènere sobre la Corporalitat i la Subjectivitat (LIS).
