This article aims to investigate the possibilities of inserting artistic-pedagogical practices in Dance in formal education/basic education. By looking closely at the school context and how the institutional, curricular and physical structure of the school has been/is formed (GABARDO, 2020; VASCONCELLOS, STORCK, MOMOLI, 2018; MARQUES, 2014), we find the impressions it leaves on the bodies that are part of this environment (KATZ AND GREINER, 2005). Realising the reality of art teaching in Brazil, we investigated and tested how dance creation-teaching-learning procedures can take place at school, articulating these practices with the ideas of engaged pedagogy and the creation of learning communities (HOOKS, 2017, 2020, 2021), as well as concepts/practices of body awareness and the creation of discourses via the body (ROEL, 2020; SETENTA, 2008)
