This research aims to address the possibilities of including the art of dance in formal education through artistic fruition. In this sense, the object of the study is built on the relationship between some concepts of contemporary dance, dance teaching in schools, cultures - of the school, in the school and school -, art and aesthetic experience. Artistic appreciation was identified as a significant valve in which the school community has the chance to get in touch with the beauty that exists in what is plural, in what is not necessarily yielding to models seen as ideal.
