The objectives of this article are, firstly, to discuss the constructionalization process of X-ada, presenting what this construction inherits from the origin category and in what it innovates, and, secondly, to morphosemantically describe the analyzed constructions. For these purposes, only the two oldest X-ada patterns of the language will be analyzed, namely, X-adaATO DE… and X-adaGOLPE. This work is based on the main assumptions of Cognitive Linguistics (LANGACKER, 1987; 2008) and constructional approaches (BOOIJ, 2010; TRAUGOTT; TROUSDALE, 2013). It is argued throughout this text that the derivational X-ada construction has its origin in the participle, characterizing a process of constructionalization (TRAUGOTT; TROUSDALE, 2013). For the morphosemantic description of the analyzed constructions, the proposal of Tavares da Silva (2020) is taken as a basis, whose core is the identification of the schematic meaning of the morphological construction.Downloads
