Abstract

In the current Portuguese literary scene, it is important to highlight the work of a poet, Luis Quintais, who examines sharply the relationships between nature and artifciality, culture and barbarism, construction and destruction of worlds. We return to the themes of crisis and the idea of dissension, as discussed by the Brazilian poet and essayist Marcos Siscar and the Portuguese essayist Silvina Rodrigues Lopes, when analyzing their deployment in the poetry of Quintais, especially considering his anthropological attention on a world marked by forms of destruction. Poetry as a resilient force and ethics of the human.
