O trabalho examina, sob a perspectiva da crítica temática, o modo como são definidos os momentos constituintes e a natureza da experiência poética em obras de Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen publicadas a partir dos anos 1950. A análise recorre à descrição das estruturas da experiência poética contemporânea proposta por Michel Collot e relacionada, em seus estudos teórico-críticos, à noção de paisagem.
