This article focuses on discussing the approach to the class of conjunctions in high school textbooks approved by the National Book and Teaching Material Program of 2021 in a comparative way to the results of the analysis of books approved in 2015 carried out by Castanheira and Caseira (2020) a in order to discuss them in a panoramic way. To achieve this, methodologically, a qualitative bibliographic and empirical approach will be adopted, in which the work already carried out on the topic will be explored and four didactic collections will also be analyzed. As a theoretical approach, the Functionalism, Text and teaching interface will be considered, defended by Castanheira (2022b), which postulates the need for a perspective based on the use and effects of meaning for the treatment of grammar in the classroom. Our results indicate that there were some changes in the materials, with positive and negative points.
