Keywords:

The paper discusses the role of the Brazilian labor inspection as an instrument of the state for the social protection of workers. However it faces the nowadays conservative struggle for the reduction of labor rights. The administrative reforms of the ministries of Labor, Welfare and Finance in 2016 also expose public policy issues that limit the performance of labor inspection, putting impasses and crucial dilemmas on it. In this sense, its short-term perspectives are discussed, considering the performance of other social actors in the protection of workers' health and safety.Published
