Regularidades em mudança semântica: um estudo de caso no domínio da junção

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar aspectos de regularidade em mudança semântica a partir da descrição, em perspectiva longitudinal, de duas trajetórias de mudança semântico-pragmática percorridas pelo juntor enquanto, que levaram à expressão de significados com grau mais elevado de subjetividade: contraste, que decorre da percepção de uma diferença, incompatibilidade ou conflito entre entidades comparáveis em alguma dimensão; e condição, que decorre da criação de cenários hipotéticos, fundados ou não na realidade. Fundamentando-me teoricamente em um modelo que confere à pragmática um papel fundamental na mudança semântica (TRAUGOTT; DASHER, 2002) e considerando como corpus textos de gêneros diversos representativos dos séculos XIII ao XXI, focalizo sobretudo o peso dos significados fonte, a natureza dos contextos que favorecem a emergência de polissemias e o estatuto dos significados novos.
