A tradução aqui disponibilizada de Diógenes Laércio, livro X: Epicuro é antecedida de algumas observações sumárias. Trata-se da vida do filósofo grego da antiguidade, Epicuro, que dá nome à filosofia epicurista. Culmina desta forma a versão disponível na atualidade do projeto delineado por Diógenes Laércio (séc. III?) para abordar a vida de alguns eminentes filósofos. Abordam-se vários assuntos, como fontes, estilo e estrutura do livro. Assim, questões de foro biográfico do Filósofo do Jardim, carácter, amigos, detratores, afetos/ relacionamentos amorosos, obra, alusão à sua vertente doutrinária, testamento. De igual modo, aspetos relacionados com Epicuro, face ao estoicismo e ao atomismo.
