Abstract

What is good to eat, pray and feel-think is not only found on the plate or in the mouth, but also in the eyes that watch over the pots, in the hands that rise in prayer and in the memories that lie among herbs, embers and orikis, laudatory poems typical of Afro-Brazilian religions, in honour of the orixás. The table set in this dossier was born from a journey made by many hands, in many languages, across many terreiros, kitchens, festivals and territories. It is a plural banquet that was prepared with ceremonial slowness, respecting the times of fire, faith and words that endure.
