Study of essential oils in Piper dioica L. and Syzygium aromaticum L - inactivation of mycotoxin Patulin
DOI:

The essential oils of allspice (Piper dioica L.) and clove (Syzygium aromaticum L.) were used to inactivate the mycotoxin patulin. Allspice comes from a species of tree in the Myrtaceae family, native to Central America and the Caribbean, and is a spice that gives off a mixed aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. It has functional properties such as antioxidant, antifungal, analgesic and insect repellent. Clove is a plant in the Myrtaceae family and native to the Moluccas and New Guinea. Chromatography and mass spectrometry are essential tools in the analysis of volatile organic molecules. Mass spectrometry has been used in substances of the most varied classes, including environmental samples, food, pharmaceuticals and chemical agents, carrying out the molecular identification of defense and public safety materials.
