Abstract

The experiences of violence against women permeate the various spheres of personal and professional life. In Gastronomy, we perceive difficulties of insertion and recognition in the area, situations that can be aggravated by discriminatory practices in the work environment, often characterized as moral harassment. In this context, there is a gap in research on harassment in that sector. Thus, the present study, of an exploratory and descriptive character, aims to analyze the practices of moral harassment perceived by workers who work in gastronomic establishments in Pernambuco, Brazil. The study was carried out through an online survey and had 76 respondents. It was identified that these women perceive the practices of moral harassment, mainly arising in the form of debauchery and mockery, reproduced mostly by men at a higher hierarchical level.
