Objetivo: Este ensaio apresenta um panorama sobre como a Convenção Internacional sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência (CIDPD) tem sido utilizada na literatura acadêmica, promovendo um debate sobre o direcionamento dessas pesquisas e propondo uma reflexão sobre a posição da Terapia Ocupacional (TO) nesse campo. Síntese dos elementos do estudo: A CIDPD é um referencial estruturante da legislação sobre os direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência (PCDs) e tem relevância para a formação, a prática clínica e a produção de conhecimento em TO. A análise dos temas evidencia a importância de embasar pesquisas na CIDPD, incluindo abordagens sobre Deficiência Psicossocial (DP), direitos de adultos com Deficiência Intelectual (DI), barreiras e recursos para participação das PCDs e indicadores de qualidade de vida para avaliar a implementação da Convenção. Conclusão: Este estudo fornece um panorama do uso da CIDPD na literatura, contribuindo para futuras investigações e para uma prática clínica que promova advocacy e redução de desigualdades enfrentadas por PCDs.
Abstract
Objective: This essay presents an overview of how the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) has been used in academic literature. It fosters a debate on how this document has guided research and proposes a reflection on the position of Occupational Therapy (OT) in this field. Synthesis of the elements of the study: The CRPD is a structuring framework for legislation on the rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and is relevant for education, clinical practice, and knowledge production in OT. The analysis highlights the importance of basing research on the CRPD, including approaches to Psychosocial Disability (PD), the rights of adults with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), barriers and resources for PwD participation, and quality of life indicators to assess the implementation of the Convention. Conclusion: This study provides an overview of the use of the ICRPD in the literature, contributing to future research and fostering clinical practice that promotes advocacy and reduces inequalities faced by PwDs.
